Description: The purpose of the Education Jobs Fund is to provide assistance to States to save or create education jobs for the 2010-2011 school year. Jobs funded under this program include those that provide educational and related services for early childhood, elementary, and secondary education. Districts are expected to use these funds for salaries, benefits, and bonuses...Support the salaries and benefits of current teachers and staff that provide the daily educational and related services to the students of Arkansas public schools and to provide additional support of programs dedicated to student achievement..50% of those funds may have been expended on creating or retaining jobs. Funds not spent to create/retain jobs were used as a one-time bonus..these..funds are being used to provide additional income to teachers, which could improve teacher retention.
