LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas (April 13, 2012) - The Arkansas Energy Office (AEO), a division of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission (AEDC), today announced the ENERGY STAR® Appliance Rebate Program is now closed as the funds have been expended. As always, rebates were awarded on a first come, first served basis. For information on a pending rebate, call 1-855-312-3566 or visit www.AR.State-Rebate.com
Since March 2010, when the first round of funding for the rebate was announced, an estimated 31,000 rebates have been distributed totaling more than $7.6 million. Final figures will be available in the coming weeks as remaining applications continue to be processed.
"We've had the opportunity through federal recovery funds to offer Arkansans several programs allowing them to make their homes or businesses more energy efficient," said Scott Hamilton, director of the Arkansas Energy Office. "The appliance rebate program had such a strong response each time we made it available, which indicates our citizens are aware of the value of an energy efficient lifestyle."
