According to a recent Crawford Press Argus-Courier article, funding was approved recently for energy upgrades to Van Buren's three fire departments. The city council voted 4-0 to award the contract to Blaylock Heating and Air Inc., which submitted the low bid of $89,049 to be funded with stimulus money from the federal government.
